Configuración

1. Desembalaxe: Carefully remove all packaging materials and dispose of them responsibly. Ensure all components are present: coffeemaker unit, glass carafe, permanent gold tone filter, and water filter.

5. Colocación: Place the coffeemaker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter and out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

Descalcificación

Over time, mineral deposits (calcification) can build up in your coffeemaker, affecting performance and coffee taste. The KRUPS 453-4C features an electronic warning to indicate when decalcifying is needed. Although residual water is removed when brewing is complete to minimize calcification, regular decalcification is important.

1. Prepare Decalcifying Solution: Mix a solution of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) or use a commercial decalcifying agent specifically designed for coffeemakers. Refer to the product's instructions for exact ratios.
2. Run Decalcifying Cycle: Pour the solution into the water reservoir. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Run a full brewing cycle.
3. Ciclos de enxague: After the decalcifying cycle is complete, discard the solution. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run two to three full brewing cycles with only water to thoroughly rinse the coffeemaker.
