Schneider LRD16
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC LRD16 Overload Relay User Manual
Model: LRD16
Marca: Schneider Electric
Introdución
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective installation, operation, and maintenance of the Schneider Electric LRD16 Overload Relay. The LRD16 is a TeSys D Class 10 thermal overload relay designed to protect AC circuits and motors against overloads, phase failure, and long starting times. It features single-phase sensitivity and an adjustable trip current range.
Configuración e instalación
Before beginning installation, ensure that the power supply to the circuit is disconnected and locked out to prevent accidental energization. Installation should only be performed by qualified personnel.
Montaxe
The LRD16 overload relay is designed for direct mounting onto TeSys D contactors. Ensure proper alignment of the relay's terminals with the contactor's power terminals.

Alternatively, the relay can be mounted separately using a terminal block adapter (LAD7B106, as seen on the top unit in Figure 1) or a DIN rail mounting kit, if required for specific applications.

Cableado
Connect the main power circuit through the LRD16 relay's power terminals (1L1, 3L2, 5L3 for input and 2T1, 4T2, 6T3 for output, typically via the contactor). The control circuit connections (95-96 NC, 97-98 NO) are used for signaling and tripping the contactor coil.

Ensure all connections are secure and tightened to the specified torque to prevent loose connections and potential hazards.
Instrucións de funcionamento
Setting the Trip Current
The LRD16 has an adjustable trip current range of 9A to 13A. Use a flat-head screwdriver to rotate the dial on the front of the relay to set the desired full-load current of the motor being protected. Set the dial to the motor's rated current.

Resetting the Relay
In the event of an overload, the relay will trip, opening the control circuit and stopping the motor. To reset the relay after it has tripped, press the blue 'RESET' button on the front of the unit. Ensure the cause of the overload has been identified and resolved before resetting and restarting the motor.
Función de parada
The red 'STOP' button can be used to manually trip the relay, which will open the control circuit and stop the motor. This can be used for testing or emergency shutdown purposes.
Modo de funcionamento
The LRD16 operates in automatic mode. Once the overload condition is cleared and the relay is reset, it is ready for operation.
Mantemento
The LRD16 overload relay is designed for minimal maintenance. Regular inspection is recommended to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Inspección visual: Comprobe periodicamente o relé para detectar calquera sinal de danos físicos, decoloración ou conexións soltas.
- Limpeza: Keep the relay free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Comprobación de conexión: Asegúrese de que todas as conexións de cableado permanezan axustadas e seguras.
Resolución de problemas
| Problema | Causa posible | Solución |
|---|---|---|
| Relay trips frequently | Motor overload, incorrect current setting, phase imbalance, motor fault. | Verify motor load, adjust current setting to motor FLA, check motor for faults, inspect power supply for phase issues. |
| O relé non se reinicia | Overload condition still present, relay damaged. | Ensure overload condition is resolved and allow relay to cool. If issue persists, replace relay. |
| Motor does not start after reset | Control circuit issue, contactor fault. | Check control circuit wiring and contactor operation. |
