Operating Instructions: Brewing Coffee
- Auga quente: Heat fresh water to just below boiling (approximately 200°F / 93°C). Do not use boiling water directly, as it can scorch the coffee.
- Engadir pos de café: Remove the plunger assembly from the French press. Add coarse-ground coffee to the bottom of the glass beaker. Use the included coffee scoop and the water markings on the beaker to achieve your desired coffee-to-water ratio. A common ratio is 1-2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 ounces of water.
- Verter auga: Slowly pour the hot water over the coffee grounds, ensuring all grounds are saturated.
- Remexer (opcional): Gently stir the coffee and water mixture with a non-abrasive spoon to ensure even saturation.
- empinada: Place the plunger assembly back on top of the beaker, but do not press down yet. Allow the coffee to steep for 3-4 minutes. Adjust steeping time to your preferred strength.
- Prensa: Slowly and steadily press the plunger straight down. Do not press too quickly or with excessive force, as this can cause hot liquid to spray out or damage the filter. The plunger's microfilter will separate the grounds from the brewed coffee.
- Servir: Pour the freshly brewed coffee into your cup immediately. Do not let the coffee sit in the French press with the grounds after brewing, as it can continue to extract and become bitter.
