1. Introdución

The Steba ED 5 Electronic Dehydrator is designed for efficiently drying and preserving a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, and herbs. 4. Configuración

  1. Desembalaxe: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the dehydrator for any damage.
  2. Limpeza inicial: Before first use, wash the drying trays and the transparent cover in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the main unit with a damp pano.
  3. Colocación: Place the dehydrator on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the appliance for proper air circulation (at least 15 cm on all sides). Do not place it near heat sources or flammable materials.
  4. Montaxe: Place the desired number of drying trays onto the main unit. Ensure they are stacked correctly and securely. Place the transparent cover on top of the uppermost tray.

  • Wash and thoroughly clean all food items.
  • Slice food into uniform pieces (approximately 0.5 cm thick) to ensure even drying.
  • For fruits like apples, bananas, or pears, pre-treatment (e.g., soaking in lemon juice or a sulfite solution) can help prevent discoloration.
  • Blanching vegetables before drying can help preserve color and flavor.

  • Arrange food in a single layer on the drying trays. Do not overlap pieces.
  • Leave a small space between food items for optimal air circulation.
  • For small items like herbs or berries, use the provided herb mat to prevent them from falling through the tray grids.
  • Stack the trays on the main unit and place the transparent cover on top.

  1. Plug the dehydrator into a suitable power outlet. The display will illuminate.
  2. Use the temperature control buttons (usually marked with '+' and '-') to set the desired drying temperature between 40°C and 70°C.

  4. Press the Start/Stop button to begin the dehydration process. The fan and heating element will activate.
  5. The display will show the remaining drying time and the set temperature.

Nota: Food is sufficiently dried when it is pliable but not sticky, or brittle and breaks easily. Store dried food in airtight containers in a cool, dark place.

7. Limpeza e Mantemento

  • Trays and Cover: The drying trays and transparent cover can be washed in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing or reassembling. They are generally not dishwasher safe unless specified by the manufacturer.
