4. Configuración

4.1 Carga da batería

The Ryobi HP108L features an internal 8 Volt Lithium Ion battery. To charge the drill:

  1. Conecta o cargador a unha toma de corrente estándar.
  2. Plug the charger into the charging port on the drill.
  3. Allow the drill to charge until the charging indicator light on the charger or drill indicates a full charge. Charging time may vary, typically taking several hours.

Nota: The drill cannot be operated while charging. Refer to the charger's specific instructions for detailed charging procedures and indicator meanings.

4.2 Installing/Removing Bits

The drill is equipped with a keyless chuck for quick bit changes.

  1. To install a bit, rotate the chuck counter-clockwise until the jaws are open wide enough to insert the bit.
  2. Insert the desired drill bit or driving bit into the chuck. Ensure the bit is inserted as far as possible and centered.
  3. Xire o mandril no sentido das agullas do reloxo para apertar as mordazas firmemente arredor da broca. Aperte firmemente coa man.
  4. To remove a bit, rotate the chuck counter-clockwise until the jaws release the bit.

The kit includes a double-sided hex bit (Phillips/slot head) for immediate use.

5. Instrucións de funcionamento

5.1 Acendido/apagado e control de velocidade

The drill is activated by the variable speed trigger. The speed of the drill is directly proportional to the amount of pressure applied to the trigger.

  • To start the drill, pull the trigger.

  • Push the selector to the right for reverse rotation (for removing screws or backing out drill bits).
  • Position the selector in the center to lock the trigger and prevent accidental starting.

5.3 Uso da luz de traballo LED

The LED work light, located below the chuck, activates automatically when the trigger is pulled, illuminating the immediate work area. This feature is particularly useful in low-light conditions.

5.4 Monitoring Battery Charge (Fuel Gauge)

The LED fuel gauge on the side of the unit provides an approximate indication of the remaining battery charge. Refer to the indicator lights to determine when recharging is necessary.

5.5 Técnicas de perforación e afiado

When drilling or driving, apply steady, even pressure. For driving screws, start at a lower speed to prevent stripping the screw head or damaging the workpiece. Increase speed as needed. For drilling, ensure the drill bit is appropriate for the material and apply consistent pressure.

6.2 Almacenamento

Store the drill in a dry, secure location away from children and direct sunlight. Ensure the forward/reverse selector is in the center (locked) position to prevent accidental activation. For long-term storage, it is recommended to store the battery with a partial charge.

6.3 Coidado coa batería

To maximize battery life, avoid completely draining the battery before recharging. While the battery is internal, proper charging habits contribute to its longevity. Avoid storing the drill in extreme temperatures.
