2. Información de seguridade

WARNING: High temperatures and electrical hazards are present during operation. Failure to follow safety instructions may result in injury or damage to the equipment.

  • Do not touch the soldering tip or heating element when the station is powered on or cooling down, as temperatures can reach up to 450°C (842°F).
  • Ensure the power cord is undamaged and properly connected to a grounded outlet.
  • Never leave the soldering station unattended when powered on. Always place the soldering iron in its designated safety rest when not in use.
  • Keep flammable materials away from the soldering area.
  • Disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or changing soldering tips.

5.3 Automatic Standby and Shut-off

The i-CON NANO features an automatic standby function and non-operative mode to conserve energy and prolong tip life. If the iron is left in its holder for a user-defined period, the temperature will automatically reduce to a standby level. After a further period of inactivity, the unit will enter a shut-down mode.

  • To reactivate from standby, simply pick up the soldering iron.
  • To reactivate from shut-down, press any button or pick up the iron.

5.4 Soldering Process

  1. Preparar a peza de traballo: Ensure the components and PCB pads are clean and free of oxidation.
  2. Estaño na punta: Before first use and periodically during use, apply a small amount of solder to the tip to "tin" it. This improves heat transfer and prevents oxidation.
  3. Aplicar calor: Place the hot soldering tip in contact with both the component lead and the PCB pad simultaneously.
  4. Aplicar soldadura: After a second or two, touch the solder wire to the junction of the tip, lead, and pad. Allow the solder to flow smoothly to form a shiny, concave joint. Do not apply solder directly to the iron tip.
  5. Eliminar a soldadura e o ferro: Remove the solder wire first, then remove the soldering iron. Allow the joint to cool undisturbed.

6. Mantemento

6.1 Coidado da punta de soldadura

  • Limpeza: Regularly clean the soldering tip using the dry cleaner (brass wool) provided in the iron holder. This removes excess solder and oxidation. Avoid abrasive materials or excessive scraping, which can damage the tip plating.
  • Estañado: Always re-tin the tip with a small amount of fresh solder after cleaning and before placing it back in the holder, especially when finishing a soldering session. This protects the tip from oxidation.
  • Substitución da punta: To replace a tip, ensure the station is powered off and the iron has cooled sufficiently. Unscrew the retaining collar, carefully pull out the old tip, insert the new tip, and secure the collar. Use only ersa series 102 tips.

6.2 Station and Holder Cleaning

  • Desconecte o cable de alimentación antes de limpar.
  • Wipe the control unit and iron holder with a damp pano. Non use produtos químicos ou disolventes agresivos.
  • Periodically empty and clean the dry cleaner's receptacle in the iron holder.
