Double 6 Dominoes is a classic game played with 28 dominoes. Each domino has two sides with a varying number of dots, or "pips," ranging from 0 to 6. In a Double 6 set, the highest number of pips on a single side is 6. The game can be played with two to four players, and the objective is to be the first to play all of your dominoes by matching the pips on one end of a domino to those on another end of a domino already played on the table. The game can be played in a variety of ways, including blocking your opponent, counting points, or playing until a certain number of points is reached. Double 6 Dominoes is a timeless game enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels for generations, perfect for game night or a relaxing afternoon indoors.

Configuración

  1. Prepare the Playing Area: Find a flat, stable surface large enough for all players to comfortably lay out their dominoes and for the game to expand.
  2. Shuffle the Dominoes: Place all 28 dominoes face down on the playing surface and mix them thoroughly. This pile is known as the "boneyard" or "stock."
  3. Draw Dominoes:
    • For 2 players: Each player draws 7 dominoes.
    • For 3 or 4 players: Each player draws 5 dominoes.
Players should keep their drawn dominoes hidden from opponents.
  4. Determinar o primeiro xogador: The player with the highest double domino (e.g., 6-6, 5-5) starts the game by placing it face up in the center of the playing area. If no player has a double, players draw one domino at a time from the boneyard until a double is drawn, and that player starts.

How to Play (Operating Instructions)

After the first double is played, play proceeds clockwise.

  1. Playing a Domino: On your turn, you must play a domino from your hand that matches one of the open ends of the dominoes already on the table. For example, if a 6-3 domino is on the table, you can play any domino with a 6 or a 3 on one of its ends.
  2. Matching Pips: Dominoes are placed end-to-end, with matching numbers touching. Doubles are typically placed perpendicularly to the line of play, allowing play off both sides of the double.
  3. Drawing from the Boneyard: If you cannot make a play from your hand, you must draw one domino at a time from the boneyard until you draw a playable domino. If the boneyard is empty and you still cannot play, you must pass your turn.
  4. Winning a Round: The round ends when a player plays their last domino, or when no player can make a move (the game is "blocked").
  5. Puntuación:
    • If a player plays their last domino, they win the round. The winning player scores the total number of pips on all the dominoes remaining in their opponents' hands.
    • If the game is blocked, the player with the fewest pips remaining in their hand wins the round and scores the difference between their pips and each opponent's pips.
  6. Game End: The game continues for multiple rounds until a predetermined score (e.g., 100 or 200 points) is reached by one player. The first player to reach or exceed the target score wins the game.
