3.1 Measuring Soil pH

This meter is designed for direct soil pH measurement, suitable for various soil types including common soil, coco coir, potting mixes, sandy soil, clay soil, and humus.

  1. Install the Stainless Steel Blade: Attach the conical stainless steel blade to the pH meter's probe for protection and easier insertion into soil.
  2. Preparar o chan: Ensure the soil is moist. Do not test very dry or hard soil. If the soil is too dry, moisten it with distilled water and wait for 30 minutes before testing.
  3. Insira a sonda: Carefully insert the probe with the stainless steel blade into the soil to a depth of at least 4 cm (approximately 1.5 inches). Avoid hitting rocks or hard objects to prevent damage to the electrode.
  4. Read the Value: Turn on the meter. Wait for the reading on the LCD screen to stabilize. The backlight feature ensures readability in low-light conditions.
  5. Record Data (Optional): Use the "HOLD/TEMP" button to lock the reading, or use the YINMIK app to save and track data over time.
  6. Limpar despois do uso: Remove the probe from the soil. Clean any soil residue from the blade and the pH sensor with the provided brush and distilled water.

3.2 Measuring Liquid pH

The YINMIK pH meter can also measure the pH of various liquids, such as pool water, drinking water, and aquarium water.

  1. Remove the Stainless Steel Blade: For liquid measurements, remove the stainless steel blade to expose the pH electrode directly.
  2. Immerse the Probe: Gently immerse the pH electrode into the liquid to be tested. Ensure the sensor is fully submerged.
  3. Read the Value: Turn on the meter and wait for the reading to stabilize on the LCD screen.
  4. Limpar despois do uso: Enxágüe ben o eléctrodo con auga destilada despois de cada medición.

3.3 Measuring Semi-Solid Food pH

The conical design of the probe allows for pH measurement in semi-solid foods like meat, cheese, dough, and sauces.

  1. Preparar a comida: For denser semi-solids, you may use the stainless steel blade to create an initial insertion point. For softer foods, the probe can be inserted directly.
  2. Insira a sonda: Carefully insert the pH electrode into the food item.
  3. Read the Value: Turn on the meter and allow the reading to stabilize.
  4. Limpar despois do uso: Thoroughly clean the electrode and blade (if used) with distilled water and the cleaning brush to remove any food residue.

4. Mantemento

4.1 Regular Calibration

To ensure consistent accuracy, regular calibration is essential.

  • For high precision applications, calibrate the pH meter every two weeks.
  • For general use where extreme precision is not critical, calibration once a month may suffice.
  • Always use fresh, accurate pH buffer solutions for calibration.

Figure 9: Electrode Storage
Ensure the protective sponge in the cap remains moist with purified water to preserve electrode integrity.

4.2 Limpeza e almacenamento

  • Despois de cada uso: Always clean the pH electrode and stainless steel blade (if used) with distilled or purified water. Use the provided cleaning brush to gently remove any residue.
  • Electrode Protection: The pH electrode is delicate. Ensure it is not scratched or damaged during cleaning.
  • Almacenamento: After cleaning, remove the stainless steel blade and replace the protective cap over the pH electrode. It is crucial to keep the sponge inside the protective cap moist with a few drops of purified water to prevent the electrode from drying out, which can affect its accuracy and lifespan.

5 Solución de problemas

ProblemaCausa posibleSolución
Inaccurate or inconsistent readings (e.g., always reads 7.00 pH despite different buffer solutions).
  • Electrode not properly calibrated.
  • Electrode is dry or damaged.
  • Contaminated buffer solutions.
  • Batería baixa.
  • Perform a full three-point calibration as described in Section 2.2.
  • Ensure the protective cap's sponge is moist during storage. If the electrode has dried out, try soaking it in pH 7.00 buffer solution for a few hours before recalibrating. If still inaccurate, the electrode may need replacement.
  • Use fresh, uncontaminated buffer solutions.
  • Substitúe as pilas.
O contador non se acende.
  • Baterías gastadas ou instaladas incorrectamente.
  • Check battery polarity and replace with new 1.5V LR44 batteries.

  • Soil is too dry or hard.
  • Obstruction (e.g., rock).
  • Moisten the soil before testing.
  • Avoid forcing the probe. Re-insert in a different spot.
Problemas de conexión Bluetooth.
  • Bluetooth non activado no teléfono.
  • Aplicación non actualizada.
  • Meter too far from phone.
  • Asegúrate de que o Bluetooth estea activo no teu teléfono intelixente.
