1. Introdución

The Radxa Penta SATA HAT is an expansion board designed to provide up to five SATA disk interfaces for compatible Single Board Computers (SBCs), including the Raspberry Pi 5 and various Radxa ROCK SBCs. This HAT enables the creation of compact Network Attached Storage (NAS) servers or other storage-intensive projects, supporting up to 100TB of storage capacity. It features four standard SATA ports and one eSATA port with power, offering flexible storage solutions.

Follow these steps to set up your Radxa Penta SATA HAT with your compatible SBC.

4.3. Assembly and Connection

1. Mount the HAT: Securely attach the Penta SATA HAT to your Raspberry Pi 5 or Radxa ROCK SBC using the provided copper posts.
2. Connect FPC Cable: Connect the FPC cable between the HAT and your SBC's appropriate connector.
3. Connect SATA Drives: Connect your 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA HDDs/SSDs to the 4x SATA ports. For external drives, use the eSATA port with the provided eSATA cable.

4.4. Optional Expansion Connections

The HAT includes an expansion interface designed to support an OLED display and a cooling fan (sold separately).

• SBC Not Powering On:
  • Confirm the 12V power supply is functional and correctly connected to the HAT.
  • Ensure the HAT is properly seated on the SBC's GPIO pins.
  • If the SBC still does not power on, temporarily remove the HAT and attempt to power the SBC directly to rule out a HAT-related issue.
