Extech DO600 Waterproof ExStik II Dissolved Oxygen Meter User Manual

Modelo: DO600

1. Introdución

The Extech DO600 Waterproof ExStik II Dissolved Oxygen Meter is designed for precise measurement of dissolved oxygen levels. It displays oxygen concentration as a percentage of saturation (0 to 200%) or as a concentration in parts per million (ppm) or milligrams per liter (mg/L) (0 to 20.00 ppm/mg/L). Key features include adjustable altitude compensation, adjustable salinity compensation, and an analog bargraph for trend indication. This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your DO600 meter.

  6. Protective Sensor Cap: Covers and protects the electrode.

4. Configuración

4.1. Instalación da batería

The DO600 meter uses four 3V CR-2032 batteries. These are typically pre-installed. If replacement is necessary:

  1. Twist off the battery compartment cap located at the top of the meter.
  2. Remove the old batteries, noting their polarity.
  3. Insert new CR-2032 batteries with the correct polarity.
  4. Securely replace the battery compartment cap to maintain the waterproof seal.

4.2. Electrode Preparation

Before first use or after prolonged storage, the DO electrode requires preparation:

  1. Unscrew the protective sensor cap from the electrode.
  2. Fill the spare membrane cap with the provided electrolyte solution. Ensure no air bubbles are trapped.
  3. Carefully screw the membrane cap onto the electrode, ensuring the membrane is taut and free of wrinkles.
  4. Allow the electrode to stabilize for approximately 15-30 minutes in the electrolyte solution before calibration.

5. Instrucións de funcionamento

5.1. Acendido/apagado

Preme o ON/OFF button to power the meter on or off.

5.2. Calibración

Regular calibration ensures accurate readings. Calibrate the meter in air-saturated water or a known standard solution.

  1. Ensure the electrode is prepared as described in Section 4.2.
  2. Immerse the electrode in air-saturated water (e.g., tap water stirred vigorously for several minutes) or a DO standard solution.
  3. Manteña premido o CAL / RECALL botón ata que apareza "CAL" na pantalla.
  4. The meter will automatically recognize the calibration point and adjust. Wait for the reading to stabilize and for the calibration indicator to confirm completion.

5.3. Toma de medicións

To measure dissolved oxygen:

  1. Encender o contador.
  2. Immerse the electrode into the sample solution. Ensure the membrane is fully submerged and free of air bubbles.
  3. Gently stir the electrode in the sample to ensure proper flow across the membrane.
  4. Wait for the reading on the LCD display to stabilize. The display will show both dissolved oxygen and temperature.
  5. Preme o MODO / HOLD button to cycle between % saturation and ppm (mg/L) readings.
  6. To hold a reading, briefly press the MODO / HOLD botón. Prema de novo para soltar.

5.4. Altitude Compensation

Dissolved oxygen saturation levels are affected by altitude. The DO600 allows for manual adjustment:

5.5. Salinity Compensation

Salinity also influences dissolved oxygen levels. The DO600 provides adjustable salinity compensation:

6. Mantemento

6.1. Electrode Cleaning and Storage

To maintain electrode performance:

6.2. Substitución da batería

Substitúa as baterías cando apareza o indicador de batería baixa na pantalla. Consulte a Sección 4.1 para obter instrucións de instalación da batería.
