1. Introdución
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, setup, operation, and maintenance of the Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor, model MSCL-OP153MW-WH. This device is designed to automatically control lighting based on occupancy detection, offering both convenience and energy savings. It functions as a single-pole or 3-way switch and includes dimming capabilities.
2. Produto rematadoview
The Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor integrates motion sensing with light control. Key components and their functions are outlined below:
- Toca Cambiar: Allows manual ON/OFF control of the connected lights.
- Rockeiro: Enables manual adjustment of the light level (dimming).
- Sensor de ocupación: Automatically turns lights ON when motion is detected in the room and OFF when the room is vacant. It can be programmed to turn lights on to a preferred dimmed level.

The sensor is designed for 120 Vac operation and supports a maximum load of 600 watts. It is compatible with various lighting types, including LED.
3. Instalación
AVISO: To avoid serious injury or death, turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before wiring. Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or in accordance with local electrical codes.
3.1 Instrucións de cableado
- Asegúrese de que a alimentación estea DESCONECTADA no disyuntor.
- Remove the existing wall switch from the wall box.
- Identify the wiring in the wall box. The Maestro Occupancy Sensor supports both single-pole and 3-way wiring configurations.
- Connect the wires from the wall box to the corresponding wires on the Maestro Occupancy Sensor using wire connectors. Refer to the wiring diagram provided with the product for specific connections (e.g., hot, load, neutral, ground, traveler for 3-way). The green wire is typically for ground.
- Carefully push the wired sensor into the wall box.
- Mount the sensor to the wall box using the provided screws.
- Attach the wallplate (sold separately) over the sensor.
- Restablecer a enerxía no interruptor automático.

4. Configuración e programación
After installation, the sensor may require initial setup and programming to optimize its performance for your specific environment.
4.1 Occupied Light Level Adjustment
The sensor can be programmed to turn lights on to a specific dimmed level when occupancy is detected. This is referred to as the "Occupied Light Level Adjustment." It is recommended to use the "preset" option for this setting. Consult the full product guide for detailed steps on entering programming mode and adjusting this level.
4.2 Time-Out Settings
The sensor has fixed time-out options for how long the lights remain on after the last detected motion. Common settings include 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, and 30 minutes. Refer to the product's advanced programming guide for instructions on how to select the desired time-out duration.
4.3 Light Sensitivity Learning
The sensor can learn the ambient light level to prevent lights from turning on unnecessarily when there is sufficient natural light. This "learning" process may take several days to optimize. Ensure the sensor has an unobstructed view of the room for accurate light detection.
5. Instrucións de funcionamento
Once installed and set up, the Maestro Occupancy Sensor operates as follows:
- Operación automática: When you enter the room, the sensor detects your presence and automatically turns the lights ON to the programmed level. When the room becomes vacant and the set time-out period expires, the lights will automatically turn OFF.
- ON/OFF manual: Press the tap switch to manually turn the lights ON or OFF at any time, overriding the automatic sensor control.
- Regulación manual: Use the rocker switch to manually adjust the brightness of the lights to your desired level.

6. Mantemento
The Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor requires minimal maintenance. To ensure optimal performance:
- Limpeza: Periodically wipe the sensor lens and faceplate with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the surface or sensor components.
- Obstáculos: Ensure that the sensor's view is not obstructed by furniture, decorations, or other objects, as this can impair its ability to detect motion.
7 Solución de problemas
If you experience issues with your Maestro Occupancy Sensor, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problema | Posible causa/solución |
|---|---|
| As luces non se acenden automaticamente. |
|
| As luces non se apagan automaticamente. |
|
| Lights blink or flicker when ON. |
|
| Sensor is unresponsive. |
