Attaching a Lens to Your Camera:

3. Align the red or white index mark on the lens with the corresponding mark on your camera's lens mount. For EF lenses (like the 50mm), align the red dot. For EF-S lenses (like the 10-18mm), align the white square.
4. Turn the lens clockwise until it clicks into place. Do not force the lens.

Detaching a Lens:

Using UV Filters:

Carefully screw the correct size filter onto the front thread of its respective lens until snug, but do not overtighten.

• Focus Mode Switch: Set the switch on the side of the lens to "AF" for autofocus or "MF" for manual focus.

• Image Stabilizer (IS) Switch: Set the switch to "ON" to activate the optical image stabilizer, which helps reduce blur caused by camera shake, especially useful in lower light or when shooting handheld. Set to "OFF" when using a tripod.
