3. Configuración

3.1 Connecting the Trackball Mouse

The ELECOM EX-G Trackball Mouse connects via a wired USB cable. No additional drivers are typically required for basic functionality on most operating systems.

1. Localiza un porto USB dispoñible no teu ordenador (PC ou Mac).
2. Plug the USB connector of the trackball mouse into the USB port.
3. The computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.

3.2 Installing ELECOM Mouse Assistant Software (Optional)

For advanced customization of buttons and pointer speed, install the ELECOM Mouse Assistant software. This software allows you to program the 5 buttons and adjust settings beyond standard operating system controls.

4. Operating the Trackball Mouse

4.1 Deseño ergonómico

The EX-G mouse is designed to fit the natural curvature of the hand, reducing wrist and hand stress during prolonged use. The thumb-operated trackball allows for cursor movement without requiring arm or wrist movement.

4.2 Funcións dos botóns

The trackball mouse features several buttons for enhanced control:

• Clic esquerdo: Función de clic principal estándar.
• Clic dereito: Función de clic secundario estándar.
• Tilting Scroll Wheel: Allows for vertical scrolling and horizontal scrolling by tilting the wheel left or right.
• Back / Forward Buttons: Navega web páxinas ou carpetas.
• DPI Adjustment Switch: Toggle between two levels of DPI (Dots Per Inch) sensitivity (750 / 1500 count) to adjust cursor speed.
• Pointer Speed Reduction Switch: Temporarily slows down the pointer for precise movements when pressed.

5. Mantemento

5.1 Limpeza do trackball

Regular cleaning of the trackball and its bearings is essential for smooth operation. Dust and debris can accumulate and affect tracking performance.

1. Turn the mouse upside down.
2. Locate the small hole on the bottom of the mouse, labeled "REMOVE HOLE".
3. Use a pen or a similar thin object to push the trackball out through this hole.
4. Once the trackball is removed, gently wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth.
5. Clean the three small support bearings inside the trackball cavity with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Ensure no lint is left behind.
6. Reinsert the trackball into the cavity.

6 Solución de problemas

• O cursor non se move ou é errático:
  • Asegúrate de que o cable USB estea conectado correctamente tanto ao rato como ao ordenador.
  • Clean the trackball and its support bearings as described in the Maintenance section.
  • Tenta conectar o rato a un porto USB diferente.
  • Reinicia o teu ordenador.
• Botóns que non responden:
  • Verify that the ELECOM Mouse Assistant software is installed correctly if you are using custom button assignments.
  • Proba o rato noutro ordenador para determinar se o problema é co rato ou coa configuración do ordenador.
• DPI adjustment not working:
  • Asegúrate de premer o botón de selector de DPI correcto.
  • If using custom software, check the DPI settings within the ELECOM Mouse Assistant.
