1. Introdución

Thank you for choosing the Elitech MOT-270W Digital Moisture Meter. This device is designed for accurate measurement of moisture content in various materials, primarily wood, as well as concrete, mortar, and brick. Its pin-type design allows for precise readings, while features like a backlit LCD, audible/visual alerts, data hold, and max/min value tracking enhance usability. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation to ensure correct usage and optimal performance.

• Do not attempt to measure live electrical circuits. This device is not designed for electrical testing.

4. Configuración

4.1 Instalación da batería

The Elitech MOT-270W requires one (1) AAA battery (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the battery:

1. Localiza a tapa do compartimento da batería na parte traseira do dispositivo.
2. Deslice ou solte a tapa para abrir o compartimento.
3. Insira unha pila AAA, asegurándose de manter a polaridade correcta (+/-) como se indica no interior do compartimento.
4. Volva colocar a tapa do compartimento da batería, asegurándose de que estea ben pechada.

4.2 Encendido inicial

Despois de instalar a batería, prema o botón Poder button to turn on the device. The LCD display will illuminate, and the meter will perform a brief self-test before entering measurement mode.

5.1 Tomar unha medida

1. Retire a tapa protectora dos pinos de medición.
2. Select the appropriate material mode (see Section 5.2).
3. Firmly press the two measurement pins into the material you wish to test. Ensure both pins penetrate the surface to obtain an accurate reading.
4. The moisture content percentage aparecerá na pantalla LCD.
5. For materials where readings might fluctuate quickly, consider using the Data Hold or MAX/MIN functions (see Section 5.3).
6. After measurement, carefully withdraw the pins and replace the protective cap.

5.2 Material Modes (Measurement Gears)

The MOT-270W features multiple measurement modes, sometimes referred to as "gears," to provide accurate readings for different materials. Press the M botón para percorrer os modos dispoñibles.

The modes are categorized as follows:

Select the mode that best matches the material you are testing for the most accurate results. If your specific wood type is not listed, choose the grade that corresponds to a similar density or common usage (e.g., Grade 3 is often suitable for many common woods).

5.3 Data Functions

5.3.1 Función de retención de datos

The Data Hold function allows you to freeze the current measurement on the display, which is useful when taking readings in hard-to-reach areas or when the value is fluctuating.

1. While taking a measurement, press the ATENCIÓN button. The current reading will be held on the display.
2. Preme o ATENCIÓN button again to release the hold and resume live measurement.

5.3.2 MAX/MIN Value Tracking

This function allows you to track the maximum and minimum moisture content detected during a measurement session.

1. Preme o SET button to activate MAX/MIN mode. The display will show "MAX" or "MIN".
2. As you take measurements, the display will update to show the highest (MAX) or lowest (MIN) value recorded.
3. Preme o SET button again to switch between MAX and MIN display.
4. To exit MAX/MIN mode, press and hold the SET botón.

6. Mantemento

• Limpeza: Limpe o dispositivo cun pano suave e seco. Non empregue produtos de limpeza abrasivos nin disolventes.
• Coidados da sonda: Keep the measurement pins clean and free of debris. Always replace the protective cap when not in use to prevent damage to the pins and accidental injury.
• Almacenamento: Store the meter in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods.
• Substitución da batería: Substitúa a pila AAA cando apareza o indicador de pila baixa na pantalla para garantir lecturas precisas.
